Edgar is a social media scheduling tool that doubles your traffic by automatically resharing your content. His automation extends your social reach and eliminates the tedious busywork of writing and re-writing updates. He catalogues your posts and allows you to publish on a schedule that you choose.
Each team is asked to select, explain, and rank their top 8 values in order of importance.
We are a fully remote company that believes in working predictable 40-hour weeks.
We view your job as a crucial part of making your life better and easier, but it is not your whole life. MeetEdgar has been designed as an all-remote company that allows its employees to work from anywhere they want to. We all work during normal U.S. hours and believe that we don’t have to be in the same physical place in order to accomplish something great together. We are surprised that this has become such a novel concept, but we are also a company that truly works 40-hour weeks. We mean it: your inbox is completely dead on evenings and on weekends. When you really need to talk to someone but, due to timezones, realize it’s 6:30pm where they are, you’ll just have to wait until tomorrow.
We also have some unique perks as a fully remote company. Edgar pays for your office (aka house) to be cleaned every month and covers your co-working expenses. Read about all of the perks and benefits at MeetEdgar and learn more about what makes us a unique and modern company in the video below.
Fosters Psychological Safety
We hate the phrase “stepping on toes”.
We’ve all been there. You have to navigate a chain of command in order to get needed information or approval. You have to think about who to cc (or worse, bcc) in your emails. We shudder at the thought of having to tiptoe around office politics just so you can do your job. At MeetEdgar, any information you need, anyone you need to work with, any resource that we have is always readily available to you. Building this business was an opportunity to build our utopia, and we’ve created a workplace where everyone is dependable, professional, and treats each other with respect. We practice immediate feedback and open dialogue (even from the comfort of our own homes!).
We can’t stress this enough.
We are a small company and have every intention of staying that way. We prioritize open communication, keeping things as transparent and public as possible, and do everything we can to eliminate friction for you to do your best work. We avoid private work-related chats on Slack (ie. no private chats). Find the appropriate Slack channel for your convo and use an @-mention to let someone know you’re talking to them. Obviously, there are situations where it is appropriate to message someone privately (payroll, credit card information, HR, etc) but when in doubt, keep it public. Learn more about our values and how they translate into actions here in our culture guide.
We grow by being profitable, not by relying on investors, and that means we’re all directly responsible for our own successes.
While this can translate into being a flat organization at other companies, we actually believe that management plays a very valuable role. At MeetEdgar, each area of business has one Advocate that serves as a primary point of contact on all projects within their space. Your advocate makes sure that you have all of the resources you need to do your job so that you can fully own your work. You don’t need approvals and you don’t need to stick to any template because we trust that everyone at Meet Edgar is the best at what they do. You are the bottom line for all your tasks, decisions, and responsibilities and the company should never get in the way of you doing your job.
Committed to Personal Growth
Successful team members are ones that practice incremental improvement.
Our goal is that every team member’s career prospects are bigger and better every year they work with us. We intend to stay a small company, which means we'll always have a relatively straight-forward org chart, without a lot of management levels. The positive side of this is that staying at MeetEdgar long term doesn't mean that the only way to move forward is to do less of the things you love and move into a supervisory role. Rather, we believe in career advancement through mastery. We're committed to making active contributions toward your experience and expertise at MeetEdgar so that every year you stay with us, you're more of a superstar in your craft than you were the year prior. As your skills develop, we'll look for more opportunities for you to put them to good use within the company. For some people, that might mean moving into a leadership role. For most, it means opportunity to explore new areas of ownership or trying out exciting new projects and ideas.
[Twice per year, the whole team gathers together for a weeklong giant workcation!]
Teamwork makes the dream work.
We do a fair amount of pair programming (and a lot of code reviews). We identified the roles that Edgar needed and carefully hired the right people into those roles. All of our engineers are incredibly talented and pair programming opportunities allow you to share your expertise with other senior-level devs, and even learn a thing or two yourself. These practices increase code quality as “programming out loud” leads to clearer articulation of complexities and aid in better diffusion of knowledge among the team.
Ideal for Parents
You can have a family and be exceptional at your job at the same time.
Several people at MeetEdgar have young children. If you need to pick your child up from school, we can work that out. As a remote company, we’ve been thoughtful in identifying what people need in order to thrive when working from home and we’re proud to be able to offer flexibility for your real life. We provide new parents (congratulations!) up to two months family leave (including adoption) and up to one month family leave for non-primary caregivers. Don’t miss the birth of your first child or your first grandchild!
We love solid tests and continuous integration, and we deploy several times a week.
Nothing exists until it's live. We love big new ideas, but they can't help us until they're real. Make things live as quickly as possible (MVPs!), then work to improve them. Focus on being decisive and remember that no decision is irreversible. We’re constantly improving our process so we can create an ideal developer environment - low overheads, high transparency. Our engineering practices and processes evolve as we grow and bring on new engineering perspectives (ie. you) that allow us to iterate quickly. Estimates were inaccurate and irrelevant, so we dropped ‘em. Artificial deadlines weren’t doing it for us, so we switched from scrum to pure kanban and never looked back. When something isn’t working, we’re not afraid to throw it out and try something new - so if you have exciting ideas about the dev process and how to make your own job even better, you’ll fit right in. (We’re open-minded like that.)

Full-time employees get 4 weeks of paid vacation per year. Days expire at the end of the calendar year. These days accrue based on hours worked, but you can always use all 20 at any time in the year - you do not need permission to “go negative” on PTO.
